Ending the First Semester of PhD School

I took my Thanksgiving break in Minneapolis with family this year (it was COLD!) and had a great time. I went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts twice and the American Swedish Institute to see their “Christmas rooms” exhibit. It was a relief to get back to Bloomington, where there is no snow on the ground (right now). The semester is winding down and I am working on my final few assignments. The exhibit my class is creating on Indonesian Wayang puppetry is entering it’s final stages: the puppets are pulled, the text is done, and the display cases are all painted. The opening will happen on December 12th and I’m very excited about it.  I’ll post pictures here when I get them.

It’s been a fantastic, busy, and positive first semester at IU!

Here’s a long overdue photo of a field trip in October to the The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
